YOUR PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – A YEAR OF CHANGE

Greetings to all members and welcome to spring? It seems to me that change is everywhere. Climate change has brought an exceptionally cold winter and spring, with record breaking rain, ice storms and another 20 to 30 cm of snow in Rosseau just this week. It looks as if the ice will be late going out this year. Just last week I heard it was still possible to drill a core two feet thick for ice fishing. Despite this, please be wary of thinning ice at the shore from churns. There is open water in some areas and it seems the MNR has been more proactive in lowering the lake levels to almost unprecedented low levels in anticipation of spring runoff.
